BY CAR See map above. Be
aware that The Dower House lies down an unmade road which looks like you are
entering a Farm. The Lodge is at the head of the road to Knowlton Court
House itself ( too grand for us!). Tickenhurst can be found when taking the
next right after Knowlton signposted Eastry. The house is the second on the
right beside some gates to a bungalow, down another unmade road.
BY COACH National
Express coaches stop at Canterbury bus station where a taxi or train would
be taken .
TAXI Taxis from
Canterbury bus station can be found on the Taxi rank, there are always
plenty. You would need to ask for your destination as Knowlton Court on the
Sandwich Road beside Nonnnington.
TRAIN Trains run from Victoria to Snowdown. To stop at
Snowdown there is a train each hour that changes very simply at Faversham
(one train follows the other). On reaching Snowdown or even before please
ring ahead on Sheila's mobile ( there is a telephone at the station) and we
will arrange for someone to pick you up as it is just a short distance from
Knowlton Court. Alternatively you can alight at Canterbury and take a taxi.
STAGECOACH BUSES The no
89 to DOVER runs once ever hour from Canterbury to Nonnington Village where
you would need to ring Sheila's mobile for someone to pick you up for the
last short hop. The return fare is about £4.70
